I just set up a new tank *50gal 36x18x18* It has corner overflow with a Durso Standpipe. I am using a 20gal long for a sump with a Mag 7 for return. My problem is micro bubbles.. I have the drain from the tank draining into a gallon jug sitting in the sump to help with the bubbles, the water has to rise over the jug and therefor the bubbles will rise to the top. I have no baffles in the sump. Will the bubbles decrease as time goes on or do I need to do something else to help get rid of them...I am planning on placing some liverock in the sump, hopefully wed. or thurs. maybe this will help some..
Any help is greatly appreciated.
TIA

I have found that with a setup like yours the addition of just one baffle usually does the trick. I have one tank where the return end in a u with the top of the output above the waterline of the sump. This roughly equates to draining into a jug as you are doing. This alleviates a lot of the bubbles. I then section off that end of the sump with one divider that extend above the waterline also. I drilled four large holes with a hole saw near the bottom of the divider. So water flows from the bottom of the more turbulent section into the rest of the sump. That did it for me. Forcing all bubbles to the surface and then draining the section from the bottom. That's the ticket.
