leaving seaweed in tank

I leave seaweed in the tank so my tang can pick at it when it wants. It is not in there any more the 4 or 5 hours at a time. Will this foul the water. Does it hurt anything to leave it in the tank. Right now I am using the green algae from ocean nutrition.

I dont think so, it says not to leave it in any longer than 24 hrs.

Just make sure it doesn't start falling apart and float all over the place -- then it will start fouling the tank since you probably won't be able to get out all of the pieces and if the fish don't eat it, it will more than likely end up on the bottom of the tank and start to decay. It will also start sticking to your overflows and filter pads (if you have them) and this could be a problem if not cleaned.
