Hi everyone,

Can a polyfilter reduce or eliminate nitrate levels in a reef aquarium?

I already know about DSBs, frequent and/or regular water changes and regulating nutrient imports (frequent feedings) or exports (via xenia or macroalgae harvests). I'm just looking for different solutions with good results.

I believe I have heard of that polyfilter will pick up other chemicals first before it really absorbs the NO3. Infact, I used a couple sheets in my tanks during the earlier years and NO3 doesn't seems to move a bit.

Come to think of it, The best quick fix that I could think of to reduce NO3 is.............water change.
