Question on ReefPure Cyclone

I just got a ReefPure cyclone today and I had a question, do you just cut some extra hose off the waste line to connect the prefilter to the carbon block? and also, what do you do with the open end off the tee that has the pressure gauge on it?

Duh, I just realized thats the waste water line
