What about Tropicorum?? I believe it is in Romulus and it is the one of the largest captive raised coral farms in the country. . I read about it in FAMA. On my next trip to Det.( my home town ) I plan on going there.

I do a lot of business at Pet Connection which i believe is around 5 mile and Middlebelt. Tropicorium is in Romulus and you can get all their information on their website at tropicorium.com. If you've never been there, then you are in for a treat. That place is amazing. I bought my new 180g AGA tank from Aquatic Discoveries in Sterling Heights. They have a decent selection of corals and fish but are overpriced. I guess a new LFS opened up in Canton about a week ago. Not sure exactly what the name is or where its located though. Hope that helps.

Just go to tropicorium.com to get the address and hours. Retail isn't their first priority so their hours may take a bit of working around.

Don't go to Detroit and not see this place. It's incredible. Bring lots of $$$ with you, you won't want to leave empty handed.

You might want to check into www.fishdoctors.com

Their main location is in Ann Arbor/Ypsi on Washtenaw, and they have a new one in Canton.

I haven't been there in about two years, but I was very impressed then....

Heh, "store" is an understatement. The place is in a greenhouse with 3 separate rooms with each room housing 6-8 vats that measure approximately 5'x15'x3.5' tall.

Like they said, brings lots of $$$. Your jaw will drop.

FWIW, I should be heading up there this weekend..

I made the trip to Tropicorium this weekend and I was amazed. What an increadable place it is. You have to watch for it caerfully as it is basically a giant greenhouse in the back of someones house. I also go to Aquatic Discovery in Sterling Heights, they are also a nice LFS to visit.

Is your new 180 AGA reef ready? Did you see the 180 Acrylic reef ready tank they have for sale. Tank, Canopy and stand for appox. $1600. Out of curiousity roughly how much did you pay for your AGA, I understand if you don't want to share that info.
