Consider this: Nobody really knows how long an anemone's true lifespan is, but they are believed to be "virtually immortal"(100 yrs or more). At least that is what Shimek wrote in an article in AFM. So it's nothing to be proud of when your anemone lives for three years.
Though on the flip side, the reality is that there is significant abuse of all corals. Most of them will die quickly, and the ones that live do not live long. Of course, I am talking in general terms, so I do not mean in the hands of all the educated people on this board. I would stick only with the bubble-tip if were to get an anemone, since the fact that it has multiplied in captivity is a reasurring sign.
