I have a 30gl sump/refugium where I am trying to grow various macroalgaes. I am using a Lights of America 60W Power Compact. I am getting new growth and I am also getting what I would consider a small steady amount of die back also. Is this normal or should I just be getting growth and no die back?
Also, I am considering running some phosphate remover to try and kill what seems to be some sort of algae growing in the tank. If I run phosphate remover, say for a week, would it cause the macroalgae in the sump to die?
