When I started my tank I got a rock from Jeff's Exotic fish with some "non-pulsing xenia type B". I looks like it's anthelia (like apastia, only blue). It spreads at a remarkable rate. Any ideas on how to get rid of it, other than plucking it off one at a time?

If it's Anthelia sp, it should just peel off pretty easy. Grab at the base of the polyp at the edge of the encrusting mat and slowly pull upward. I had excellent results doing this with mine. If you're lucky enough to have a decent LFS around the area, you could attach them to rock and sell/trade them to your LFS.

I feel your pain. Keep scraping and peeling making sure you collect all the loose pieces as well. You don't want those floating aroung in your tank. If you can do all your peeling out of the tank you will be able to do a more thorough job. I use a pair of tweezers to grasp a loose edge.
