There should be no problem combining the
shrimp. However, I'm not sure 1 or 2
peppermint shrimp will help or even 5 or 6,
or 7 or 8. I've had very limited results and
it seems from what I've read in the form others
have not had good success with the shrimp.
Good luck.

I had a pretty large aptasia problem and I tried adding one peppermint shrimp twice, but for some reason they both died and did not do a dent in my aptasia. I then added five small shrimp and after about 2 months the aptasia were completely gone and now I have two large shrimp.

Hey everyone,

Apparently I have a serious aiptasia AND anemone majoris (sp?) problem in my tank......I was going to get 1 or 2 peppermint shrimp to help......will they fight with my cleaner shrimp?

Thanks

Pat

I had 4 peppermint shrimp in the tank for around 5 months, decided I wanted 3 cleaner shrimp as well to look after my two tangs, I added the cleaners - after a couple of weeks, no sign of the peppermints... Now I know this would be inadmissable in a court of law, but all suspicion point sto the cleaners taking out the peppermint and until a defense lawyer can prove otherwise, my cleaners are staying in my tank - getting no visits from peppermints and are locked up for life (they do such a good job otherwise) I added a copperband Butterfly 6 weeks ago to try and take care of a minor aiptaisia outbreak, but he doesn't seem interested in them either,

Hi: I have one peppermint shrimp and 2 cleaners in a 55 gallon and they all get along. My peppermint shrimp wiped out my aiptasia problem in about 3-4 weeks.

i have a 10 gallon tank (for 5 months now). At one point (3 months ago) i had a growing aptasia problem. I had one, then 8 of those things. I went to a LFS and picked up a peppermint for $5.95. Within 36 hrs it devoured, with gusto, all the aptasia. I witnessed some of it. That shrimp loved those things. Well, im feeding it flake food now. The good thing is that it takes it from my fingers now without me having to put my fingers in the tank. It also eats copepods and amphipods, maybe worms too. One bad thing, i dont see bristleworms in my tank anymore. i used to have alot of those things.
