Homemade C02 reactor?

I was thinking about how expensive C02 was when I had an idea. Get some acid and some calcium carbonate. Mix acid with calcium in a cup. C02 should bubble to the surface. The cup is sealed at the top with air line tubing in the middle of the seal. Airline tubing goes to were you want the C02. The only problem would be that you can not control the dosage easily.
