Anyone using 20K HQI Radiums?

I use an HQI but its not a 20k its a 10k. I have had the 12k too. I have a plate of glass that came with the pendant that I got. I dont know if it blocks uv but im guessing that it may. I have had nothing but success with things under the light.

Looking for info, heresay, facts, whatever. I really love the look of the sunburst, but I am considering HQI, and they don't make an HQI Sunburst. So the choices are 10000K and 20000K. I'm trying to go w/ only NO atinics for dusk/dawn effect.

If you are using HQI what are you using as a UV shield?

The glass plate does indeed block UV radiation. without it you will burn your livestock to a crisp

Not sure of that thought, as I have seen retro kits with no forms of UV glass and they work fine too..
