HQI lasts longer? Where's the proof?

IM not sure that they last longer except that my 1st HQI bulb lasted over a year before burning out. Well over a year. I should have replaced it earlier but it lasted a while. It definately has more lumens output though...not sure about the life part.

Hey all, I'm thinking of getting HQI for the new 125, and I have been reading that they last longer than ordinary MH bulbs. I'm going with the 10000K's or higher. Any links or hard facts would be much appreciated.
