I have a 90 gallon with very little phospates, and I have about 30 snails and 30 crabs, had more but some passed. All parameters 0 or at standard, Nitrates a little high, did a big partial tonight
help!!! I have more FUZZY green algae. What's wrong??? Could it be my test kit not working right and not picking up phosphates. Is there another source????? It is growing like crazy!!!!!
What is very little phosphates and what does nitrates a little high mean? You should have both at 0 or undetectable, or you will have algae problems. Try and change some more water, cut down on feeding for a while, and dose some kalk to precipitate out phosphates. Also, add a phosphate eliminator of some sort, and you should see the algae go away or at least get under control.
my guess would be the move.It stired everything up . If you have a sand bed thats probably what happened .I vacuumed and blew my sand bed once when I didn't know better and had quite a battle with hair algae for 4 months .
Might take a little time for the sand to cycle again but it should be fine .
