I recently purchased a Diamond Blenny for my minireef aqaurium, mainly because I needed a sand sifter for my live sand. He/she seemed extremely active in the fish store and so I brought him home. The first thing he did was find a suitable live rock, burrowed underneath it and sort of kicked up the sand all around as if to barricade himself within. He's been there for 2 days now. Is this normal for Diamond Blennies? When will he "show himself" to the rest of the world? I can see him if I peek through the openings between the rock and sand bed. He just wiggles around in one spot.

You should remove him. He will sift and eat everything in your sand and you will no longer have live sand. You really don't need any sand sifter, especially in a small tank.
