I've had the skimmer running fine for a year, when a couple of weeks ago it started filling the collection cup way too fast with almost completely clear skimate, and filling the tank with micro-bubbles. The guys who run CPR's bulletin board tell me that something I added changed the viscocity of my water, and that if I stop adding whatever did this, and did a water change it would fix the problem. Trouble is I haven't changed my additives, and after several water changes, the problem persists. I added the in-chamber bubble trap and that didn't stop the bubbles either. Anyone have any ideas?

check the water level, sometimes if it is to high or if the skimmer release is to low it can inject bubbles into the aquarium

ive had that happen when i used underwater glue.the cup filled up in no time. So what i had to do was turn off the skimmer for a couple of days until the glue dried out.
