I am in need of some 5g buckets with lids for moving water and whatnot. I don't buy salt mix so I miss out on that source of buckets. Does anybody have any ideas on how I could get a bunch of them (10-12) without having to go scrounging around half the state?

www.usplastic.com sells them and they look nice, but I don't know how good their lids are (I don't want those lids that are nearly impossible to remove). Thanks!

I bought a few 5 gallon buckets/lids from Home depot, but in a very short time the coating on the inside started breaking down. I was using them to store RO water to use as make-up. I noticed a white powdery coating on the inside of them when they were dry. I am not sure what the substance was, it might have been harmless, but . . . it worried me so I bought some FDA-approved, buckets from a company I found on-line. They cost a few bucks, but I am not worried about leaching "unknown toxins" into the water. their website is: www.containerandpackaging.com. You may find some cheaper somewhere else, but these people were a pleasure to deal with. I could not find FDA-approved containers anywhere locally.
Good luck!

I get icing buckets from the local grocery-deli for $0.50. When they don't have any I can get pickle, mayonnaise, and mustard buckets from Subway, BK, McD's, and Wendy's usually for less than a $1.00.
