i have this unusual leafy brown macroalgae that at first looked like sargassum, but now im not sure. its spreading like crazy throug my 3 week old 10 gallon. it has about ten pounds of fiji live rock in it, no fish, or inverts other than the usual hitchhikers. it seems to come out of calcerous tubes that grow out from crevaces in the rock. its brown, and it grows very low, staying close to the rock. the leaves are like sargassum, but more widened, and without any bladders. there are blue-hued stripes on some leaves, running across the leaf. its now on every rock and spreading fast. at least its choking out the diatoms...just wanted to know what it was.
