What kind of lights do you use? I keep a bubble fish and never feed it. (My pair of tomato clowns sometimes leave food in it though). I keep mine under vhos and it does fine ( even split once) Your bubble tip should crawl around till it finds a spot with the right current and lighting. Until then just let it go and clear a path for it. If you never feed it and there is good lighting it should do just fine if it was initially healthy.

Wouldn't worry about the feeding for a fair bit, provided you have good lighting. You might try plopping him in a hole in a rock, if you can find one. I did that with mine, and can't get it to move out for love nor money....
