Time for a change...

Well I hate to do this but my 2 skimmers will be replace by my new MTC HSA 1000 with IWaki55. I am happy with both of my skimmers on my 180g but summer is on the way so I have to cut down some heat on my tank and also save some electric bills.I saw this beast on my friends tank and its really pulling a lot of stuff and now he is taking a break from the hobby and I get the chance to buy it..I just hope it will do the job for me as I am heavily feeding my tank and want to add 3-4 more fish. Here is the pics of my 2 skimmers and my new MTC. I will post a pic once Its running and I will say if its worth it or not :p

No its just that I assemble it like that so I can take a pic of it

I have been running one for nearly a decade. You have a newer model with the accessible Beckett injector and that is a good thing. The original was a real pain to clean. Mine is modded now with the new Beckett and it makes a world of difference maintenance wise. Like all Beckett driven skimmers ( and if I'm not mistaken this was the 1st on the market) it can be a little finicky to tune, and needs a large pump, but when it is working properly, it skims like a beast.

Thats is good to know... I will try to atleast gets this thing running tonight or tomorrow and hopefully it skims like a beast.. Do you have picture of your skimmer?.. what pump are you running with it? thanks

As promise I finished hooking this up 1am this morning and let it run with the gate valve all the way open .. at 7am before I got to work I turn on the Injectors and wow I got home at 7:30 and look downstairs and this thing is skimming really good already... I Thought I have to tweak it for days but I am wrong .. well here is the pic of the MTC HSA 1000 in action 13hrs
