in my 29 gallon tank, i have a pair of tomato clowns and a pair of bubble tip anemones. the female is quite possessive of her 3/4 of the tank against the completely complacent male. at night the female has her pick of anemone to bed herself in, and the male is always left to sleep by the heater or in the upper corner of the tank....will this ever change?

will these two ever enjoy each others company or will the male be constantly antogized?

granted, its not a constant battle between the two, they got that out of their system quite some time ago, its just...i guess i imagined the pair acting like a pair instead of a big sister little brother relationship....

thanks for your replies!

That is the way it is with clowns. The larger female is the dominant one. Over time she may become more comfortable in the relationship and allow the male to spend more "quality" with her in the anemone.

If you haven't already, check out Joyce Wilkerson's Clownfishes. Besides a host (no pun intended) of breeding information, she has a lot of good information about behavior patterns in each of the species as well as amenone information.
