LifeReef Skimmer problem

I just purchased a lifereef sump and downdraft protein skimmer in the equipment traiding board. The sump is awsome but the skimmer is in a few more peices then it should be. Both the downdraft and riser tube were broken off the box. These are not clean breaks. I was thinking about getting tubing that has a very close ID tollerance to that of each of the tubes OD. Slipping the tube s over the broken ones and then Weldon #40 them to their locations. Any other ideas would be appriciated.

Are you sure the skimmer is a Lifereef. Jeff doesn't make downdrafts that I am aware of.
All of his are venturi.

Ya, it was a prototype (one-off) for a customer of his in Colorado. I has the sticker and I talked to Jeff reguarding the possability of repair. Supposidly the thing does wook very well and I wold hate to trash it. Thanks for looking out for me.
