I recently purchased 4 fifty pound bags of SD sand. I don't have a tank yet, except a 5 gallon nano that I started in January. When I finally get my next tank, which should be within a couple of months, I intend to have a 6" DSB. Any suggestions on which tank will still give plenty of viewable area after the sand is added?

Thanks,
Bob

Winger, I think you put the cart before the horse here but to answer your question, a deep tank (more than 28 inches) would handle a 6 inch bed and still give you plenty of viewing space. Personally, I'd pick out the tank you want first, and then match up the sand. I have 56 gal tank with about 110 lbs of sand and I've got close to a 4 inch dsb. The tank is 27 inches deep. A shallow tank with a 6 inch bed will reduce the water volume considerably more than a 4 in. dsb. Just my .02 JWT
