Out of curiousity, I tasted the seaweed select. It is seasoned with salt and sugar. Unlike the normal seasoned seaweed, seaweed select is much thicker then those regularly used for out of the bag nori sheets.

I thought the common concensus is that the seaweed to be used to feed tangs should be un-seasoned. What's the deal here? Believe me, I have been trained to eat seaweed since birth, and when I tasted seasoned nori, I KNOW!

Are they just trying to fool all of us here by repackaging common seaweed? What's the mark-up for?

BTW, I tasted the green seaweed select. It actually tasted pretty good, just the texture not as fine as the ready to eat out of the bag ones.

Dan,

I'm very, very worried about you!

BTW, does Meow Mix really taste better than other dry cat food mixes?

I have no idea why seaweed selects might be seasoned - maybe attractants for the fish? Most fish foods use one sort or another to get fish to consume them. I think the seasonings we are warned about are not of the sugart/salt variety (if you're not mistaking female fish hormones for sugar - ewww!

Of course, I could be waaaaaay off base (wouldn't be the first time)

I've never tasted Seaweed Selects, I rarely buy them anymore. However, I eat the nori I feed the fish. Yum...

It's way too expensive to buy SS just to sample, so hopefully other users are able to taste test.

And my dogs food tastes like crap :

On a serious note, are anchovies repackaged as silversides?

There is a restuarant in Los Angeles that is famous for odd menus, such as crickets, worms, ants, scorpions....etc.
