I was in a lfs today and was looking at a fireshrimp when this lady walked up. I said how beautiful the shrimp was and I would like to get one. Well she said she did get one and brought it home and when she put it in her tank in proceded to kill her cleaner shrimp. I have a cleaner shrimp and would not want that to happen. Anybody out there have both? How do they get along? I have a 135 so there is some room to roam you might say.

I have 2 cleaner shrimp (stripe, skunk, pink lady, whatever you want to call them), 2 fire shrimp (also cleaners, or blood or whatever) and a banded coral shrimp in my 125. They all get along just fine, no problems whatsoever. Don't know if they're not supposed to get along, only that they do in my tank. They don't hang out together, but they also don't bother each other.

I have been to a couple of aquarium stores and saw them both in the same tank. They seem to get along just fine. Keep us informed if they do.

I second BCReefer. I have seen many a tank at the LFS with both blood shrimp and cleaners. Maybe the lady just wasn't lucky.

I have 2 skunk cleaners, 2 blood cleaners, and 2 peppermint, and they all get along. The skunks and peppermints stay in plan view all day while the blood shrimp tend to stay behind the rock work or in a shaded area in view. The blood shrimp come out readily when food is added to the tank. I have them in 105. It is kind of funny, but my desjardinni tang will only let the blood shrimp clean it.
