I am seriously considering getting a 72G bowfront this weekend but would like to see what your stands look like in terms of structure. I am planning on building mine because I don't want to pay $250 for a stand and would love to see what yours look like.
thanks a million

I have the 72 bowfront but I purchased the stand, as I have absolutely no carpenter skills - none that I would trust putting a tank filled with water on

Sorry.

Same as the above 72g bowfront, AGA stand, no camera. I love the tank but not necessarily the stand. Let me give you some more reasons to build your own besides the cost. For one thing the AGA has a relatively small footprint (smaller than the tank itself). Also it's not very high (about 28"). One last gripe is that you can only get about a 15g sump through the doors.

If I were more of a carpenter I'd tackle replacing it myself with a better design. Actually I've thought seriously about having a custom one built to replace the factory one. If you have the ability to construct your own go for it. The AGA stands are hardly fancy. The only real challenge with a DIY would be the curved front, but using the tank as a template you could probably handle this with ease if you are good with wood. Hey that rhimes

72g Allglass Bowfront and camera. You tell me what to photograph. Just make sure you waterproof the thing, then you can tell me how to build one....

i'd like to see what the interior of the stand structure looks like, (the bowed front) and the part where the overflow holes come down into the stand. Basically structural pictures of the stand. I have some sketches that I have done and would love to compare them to what they have.

thanks again!!
you can email the pics to me if you want, or post them here. my you can mail them to [email protected] if they are less than 1.5MB total. otherwise [email protected]

I just bought a 72 gallon reef ready bowfront and stand a couple weeks ago for $250. I am going to set it up after my move in a month or so and consolidate my 2 46 gallon bowfronts into it. The gentleman I purchased it from gave me some really good advice when dealing with the sump. Put the sump in first, before you put the tank on top and fill it. That way you don't have to worry about fitting it though the small opening in the front. I plan on using a 20 gallon long tank.

I would love to see some pictures of someone's 72 gallon setup if anyone has any!!!!

i was looking at the stand they had the tank on at the lfs and it was different than the one i saw on the all-glass website. The hood i got with the tank is the oceanic plastic hood which looks awesome. now i need to build the stand!!
