Set up: 90/g reef with 30/g sump in a custom built cabinet.
refugium will be about 3' high making it about 2.5' above the sump.

I have another 30/g that I want to set up as a refugium in the closet about 2-3' away I would like to us PVC pipe down low on the floor but I would like to know if plumbing the refuge 2' strait down then 3' flat across the floor the about 6" up to the sump water line. Will this work right. or should the pipe be slightly slanted down the whole way to the sump.

1: Will this work
2: Will the water gravity feed to the sump ok
3: Should the bulk head in the sump be above the water line or below
4: Should the refuge be skimmed from the top like a reef?

Sorry for all the questions
I would just like to set this up the right way the first time.
Thanks for any and all the help

If you mean by the output from the refugium to the sump, then it does not matter. Most people do it above the waterline.

Yes, because it stop your refugium from complete drainage.

Slanted or not is just matter of preference. If you need to walk across the pipe, by all means, lay it as low as possible. People slanted the pipe to alleviate the noise of water dropping thru the pipe. If you can't deal with with noise, and don't mind tripping over the pipe and hit your head on the cabinet, then slant it.
