Can I put a PFO, or an Advance MH ballast in the basement? There would need to be about a 35 foot run between ballast and socket.
Thanks,
Dan

I use to keep my ballasts in the basement. But I don't know about 35' the longest lines were about 15'. Why do you need 35'? WW

It's a split level house, so I can't just drill a hole in the floor and go straight down. It's more of an 'up, over, and down' kinda thing.
Thirty five feet may be a generous estimate, but I don't think it will be much less than that.
Thanks,
Dan

I would think the long cables would effect the inducance of the system. As such, the lamps might have trouble firing. Voltage loss over the length should not be a problem, but could be an exacerbating factor.

Thanks Guys. I might be able to go thru a wall and locate them above some ductwork in the guest bedroom. I was just trying to avoid the clutter, and heat involved with having them next to the tank.
