Does anyone out there know anything about the Queen Turbo-Skimmer TS-2000? I found one for $35.00 and just wanted to know if it was worth it....I know you get what you pay for...but just wanted to see.
55gal....about 35lbs of LR, no sand just crushed coral...kids keep buying fish for me to put in it...this is a family tank...I guess you could call it...everything is doing fine...just starting to get the small white dusters on the LR
if i were you id get a Red Sea Prism, most MO places have them for about 75-99 bucks, ive got a 40 breeder that i feed very heavily and it works great.
The Prizm is very poorly built, with thin plastic and a tiny reaction chamber. It is also inadequate for a 55 gallon aquarium.
I recommend the Precision Marine HOT-1. It's built like an army tank and performs much, much better than a Prizm. It goes for about $160-180 but... you get what you pay for. www.premiumaquatics.com has them and many other online places do too.
I've seen the Queen skimmer at work and it looks like it works ok (for the price). It does need a large pump, i think my LFS was running a RIO2500 on theirs. The skimmer and pump end up very bulky as the skimmer needs to sit inside the aquarium. Please keep me updated if you end up getting and running one. JOHNNY
