This is the wierdest thing I have ever experienced in a reef tank. I will try to get a pic.

So about a week ago I cleaned the powerheads in my tank really thoroughly; they really needed the cleaning, and water flow increased pretty dramatically. Four days later, I notice these really small blue and black things all over, but mostly on my patches of red cyano algae. There don't seem to be any on any of my corals (I have softies and some LPS). They are on my live rock as well. They seem to be smaller than the pics I have seen of flatworms.

If anyone can think of what these are, please let me know. I will try to get a pic too.

Thanks,

Jessica

OK, so maybe this is a stupid idea. But the blue on the "little wormy things" is almost exactly the same blue as on my blue and black striped hermits. I do have two of the above-mentioned hermits, so I guess what I am getting at is, what do baby hermits look like? Could this be a larval stage or something?

Obviously clueless,

Jessica

I believe that hermits do have a larval stage, but if they were tiny hermits, I doubt they would have made it through the larval stage and into a bottom dwelling stage. They would all be in tiny tiny shells, and you would be able to tell what they were right away. Why not peel off the cyanobacteria (since you don't want it in there anyway) and take a closer look at them?
