Was wondering if anybody has kept this fish in a reef tank. They are known to eat some corals.Trying to find out for sure. Are these fish farmed raised now.And if so what is the long term of them vs. corals.Any info on these guys in any our your tanks would help.If they do nip corals, which ones do they nip at?
Thanks for your reply

My boss threw a tiny juvenile Koran (P. semicirculatus) into his show tank..it was sick and he thought the water quality there would help, which it did. The fish got better, and eventually got FAT on Xenia and leathers.

I've heard that if you get them as juveniles they can be "trained" to leave corals alone, but IMO it's hit and miss.

Having seen what I saw, I don't think I'd risk it.

Gorgeous fish for a LARGE FO/FOWLR tank though!

I had one in a FOWLR. I purchased it as a juvenile and grew it to almost full adulthood. It was an ugly faded blue for awhile before turning golden. It's a great angel for a large FO tank, but I wouldn't trust it in a reef. It picked the LR clean in my tank.

A friend of mine has great looking Koran in his tank, but his is an SPS dominated tank with no soft corals or sponges. He's had it for about a year now, hasn't bothered anything, and it survives off turf algaes, frozen sponges, silversides, and flake food, never touching any of the SPS......
