I am going to attempt to make a DIY skimmer following plans found on the internet. I will be building an 8" skimmer, which calls for both 8" and 6" diameter PVC.
I've called around locally and found a place that sells both; but the minimum purchase is 20' of each. I only need 5-6 foot of the 8", and I think 2' of the 6". Was wondering if anyone else in the area had any need of either of these sizes and would want to go in on the purchase with me. Cost of the 8" PVC is $3.80 per foot and the 6" PVC is $2.50 per foot.
Prices are much better than trying to mail order the stuff; I have found one place on line that sells a 5 foot piece of the 8" for $45.00 ($9.00 per foot - plus shipping!). I believe the 6" PVC was around $6.00 per foot plus shipping mailorder.
If you are interested let me know. If I do find anyone interested, I can go pick it up and pay for it; then you can pick up what you need from me and pay me for however many feet you need.
