This just received and thought I would spread the word to all of you who will be attending.
One of the main charters of Reef Splendor is captive coral & fish
propagation. If any of your people have frags THEY want to sell
to us we would be interested.
We are especially interested in mother colonies that are truly propagated.
This is an important point because too many people out there are simply
fragging wild corals and calling them propagated. While in fact these corals
are frags they are first generation and should be represented as such.
Even medium size frags are of interest :
We will consider everything from the dreaded xenia to the most rare
stonies.
Yes people do want to buy propagated xenia and we have a lot of it off site
but we are interested in rarer varieties or colors
So let me know if you guys have anything you would like to sell.

Yes & no.
Not too far upstate. As far as I can tell it's in the vicinity of I-84 and the Taconic State Parkway.
I live a few minutes away from Hopewell Junction for fourteen years and no reef store. I move to California and they set up a friggin mega reef store. Sheesh.
Next time you come home to visit you will have to stop in and drewl over what you are missing
Fish they don't have aquacultured florida rock if you want some they can get it, If you want them to have it cured and ready for your tank, you will need to let me know ASAP so that they will be able to have it ready for you. If you want to talk to them directly. their number is on their site, and It is okay for Fish to call and place an order to be picked up at the meeting. They were telling me they just got in baby yellow tangs, he said they were a little bigger than a fifty cent piece But if anyone is looking for a special fish we have to let them know ahead of time so that they are sure the fish/coral is healthy before you pick it up on saturday the 8th. If anyone is wanting something special ya'll need to let me know well ahead of time. They said they don't want to be like places and sell something that they know just came in. they want their animals to live in your tank.If they make you happy, then you will remember themand return. Most don't realize they have tanks of their own and have been in this hobby along with us for years. They have gotten a great chance here to try to do right by everyone where you won't have to worry about what condition the animals is in because with them they won't sell it unless it is healthy and been in their tanks for at least two weeks.
That's too bad they won't be carrying cultured rock, considering they want to be pushing captive fish and corals. If they are going to be any different than the the other good reef stores within driving distance to me, then I'd like to see them carry what is cultured in the hobby. I can always order my own cultured rock, but I'm the type of customer who is always looking for a lively piece of rock that will fit properly in my tank aquascape. I don't need someone to special order me rock at a markup just so I can pick out one 5 lb piece. I can always get good Fiji rock from Paragon or Inland Reef so I'm only marginally excited about checking out just another reef store.
I got a promising email regarding cultured rock, it looks like they are looking for a good source of Florida rock and will be carrying aquacultured Fiji.
