My frogspawn is dividing. Two of the heads are dividing; they already have two "mouths" each and seem to be dividing more each day. How long until the tissue of the two new polyps seperate completely making four distinct corralites?
It took quite awhile for mine to go from the stage where I could see the new heads splitting until they were entirely separate. As I recall it may have been as much as two months. Mine was in a ten gallon tank under 30 watts of NO so the light level was low. It is now in a 30 with 196 of pcs and is growing faster but has not split again.
I have a green w/pink tips Frogspawn(Euphyilla Paradivisa) and it also takes a few months for the heads to fully seperate. I even try feeding it to encourage growth, but it seems to have it's own rate.
All three heads of my frogspawn are splitting! One has been in the process for months and has still not totally seperated. The others have more recently started.
E. Paradivisa is an awesome coral. They divide and can grow fast. You can frag them by gently breaking off whole branches. Mine started with 13 heads and has over 50 now! This does not include the piece I broke off and gave to a friend--it has more than 12 heads now.
