The skimmer was included with the filter/sump and was made by Marine Life Aquatics. The pump which was supplied with the unit died after 5 months of use. It was made by OTTO but I really don't want that brand again.
I would take a look at the two options I mentioned then. Look at the old otto and determine the rating in gallons per hr or minute and try to get a venturi pump that is rated similarly. I assume it uses a venturi powerhead based on your original post. Also, make sure the outlet size is the same or can be adapted to be the same so that it fits to the skimmer properly. If it connects via tubing then that's probably no problem

What type of skimmer is it? Some production skimmers make use of the Rio 600 & 800 Venturi models. I believe they are designed for that purpose. You can also buy venturi adapters for Maxijet powerheads. I think the adapter is about $4 at premiumaquatics.
