both the same exact price... but the spectra pure is 60gpd compared to reefpures 50gpd. thanks for the help, peace

J, I see you decided not to go with the Aqua F/X.
All I can tell you about the 2 units you have asked about is that Spectrapure has been in business for alot longer than the other.

Unless I am wrong...Reefpure is the guy who used to be CEO of AquaFX. Something happened and he got hosed over and he left. He actually sent me an e-mail in response to an e-mail that I sent him once and it didn't sound like a good breakup.

Their prices look pretty good...

My AquaFX unit really kicks some serious butt. I love it.

Personally, I like to try and help the "small guys" make a buck or two.

Therefore, I would check out the ReefPure. Supposedly all filters and membranes are "standard" sizes, so finding replacements should not be a problem.

Hello all!! reefpure rocks!!!!!!!!
After several weeks and problems after placing an order with an online merchant. (The first unit was lost by UPS and repeated attemps to correct the shipping problem with the orginal supplier.) I contacted Dave(@reefpure)and he helped solve the problem I received the unit tonight, holly **** it was upgraded by Dave for having to wait so long(not his problem but he fixed it) from a 100 gal a day 5 stage to there 200 gal 7 stage unit @ no extra charge!!! . just give the guy a try, he will do you right!!
and yes he was part of aqua fx.

Update 11/14
i finished unpacking the system and found the float missing (the orig online guy forgot to order it for me) and dave shiped it right out!!!

I talked with Dave last week and they are definately still around. I did a lot of research and really like the reefpure. It came with a lot more goodies than the spectrapure for the same price.

hey Bryan... i used your recommendation about reefpure when i emailed them earlier today. i did a search on reefpure and you posted how great they were and the price you purchased your unit for. so when i emailed them i said that i had read many good things about their company and products and was wondering if they were still selling some of there units for the price you had stated you picked yours up for. hopefully i will get a response from him tommorrow. when you purchased yours, was there a special being run on them or did he just give you a really nice deal? thanks everyone for all the info, peace

When you compare units also compare what you get for the price. While the prices of units may look similar, the actual features and included items can make a difference in the total price.

Spectrapure has been around a long time and is a quality product with good tech support. I highly recommend them. Not familiar with reefpure.
