Oh man!

I hope you guys can explain a mystory for me. My cleaner have disappeared. I know that it molted because i pulled the outter skeleton from the tank Saturday. Figuring the cleaner shrimp will be in hiding for a bit until a new "shell" regrow, but it's been almost a week and no sign of the little bugger. What happen to him? Could me still be in hiding?

Here is what I have in my tank (beside the shrimp that is MIA):
1 - Barred Goby
1 - Neon Goby
2 - Tomato Clowns

It's not uncommon for shrimps to go MIA for a couple of days or even weeks and turn up again. How big is your tank? Does it has "LOTS" of hiding spots?

BTW, they do not need to "regrow" the shell, they molt with the new shell already present, just need to wait for the new ones to harden, that's all, and it normally doesn't take more than 24 hours.

Not unless there are other predator in your tank that you are not aware of, and ate the softshell shrimp........

My cleaner shrimp (2 of them) molt fairly regularly, and they are out and about the next day--that is, they generally molt at night, and I see the shell floating in the tank and the shrimp are out and about that same day.

I have a 55 gal. tank, with about 100lbs of LR which means there are LOTS of hiding places. I've never gone a week w/o seeing the shrimp, so I'd be wondering at this point if I were you....

Yeah, i am a tad bit worried.

I have a 29 gal with about 25-30 lbs of Marshall Is. LR (will be adding more once funds are in

). So there is some hiding places but not a lot.
