Petco <I know> has a cherry 180 gal. I was in there tonight and it has been there for a while
I was thinking if I work there for maybe 3 months
I could probably pay for it with my check. I know what everyone says about them but I thought I could educate them and the employees and maybe get a good deal on the tank. I watched a girl float several boxes of fish then after like 30 mintues used a box cutter and slit the bags and dump water and all in the tanks. I figure I could save alot of livestock by doing it right. This would only be long enough to pay for the tank and stand. I still would work my full time job. Should I just save the money?

hehe Jerry Jerry Jerry.

If you think you can change them, go for it, but you know why you want to work there. I don't think you can change them, but you could do some good while you are there. I would save the money and enjoy your current tank, instead of never being at home and not being able to see your tank. That is just me though. Let us know what you decide!

I kinda thought that.....I stood around in there talking to several people and giving info.....they werw starving for it. Other people were standing around and I guess listening and would walk over and ask me a question. One guy wanted to talk the whole time I was there. I gave him several web sites including this one and told him to read read read. I also ended the conversation with this:
ask yourself if the info given makes sense including mine and also if several people tell you the same thing it is likely true. This can be a frustrating and confusing hobby but there are good knowledgable people out there.

hello,

I have a friend of mine that recently started working at petco in north colorado springs and he has done a decent job of turning it around. he had a very difficult time of getting support from management on tank setups and isolation / hospital tanks. but after saving 2 of 4 puprple tangs and a few other decent dollar fish they are listening a little more. one of the bad things he says is that you have to go along with corperate rules and regs which limit orders and such. but it seems to be working out, so who knows maybe you can get lucky and be able to turn another bad store to the better for a little bit.

good luck
joe
