I have a nudi that came in on some LR a few months ago. At the time that I added that LR, I had TONS of scypha sponges in my tank. I identified this Nudi as a species that eats only sponge. Now, all the scypha sponges are gone and he's getting skinny.

He's a great nudi, and I hate to see him go. If you have tons of scypha sponges in your tank and you're in D/FW, I'll be happy to give this guy a fighting chance in your tank. I just can't watch him die in my tank.

Email me if you're interested.

jdeets-

I don't recall, so I'll just ask- how old is your system?

Scypha sponges are quite common in new systems as part of the fauna succession in the cycle process. If your tank is relatively new, the sponges may have disappeared due to a lack of food themselves, not from nudi predation.

The system is about 9 months old. I used to have tons of scypha sponges. Even up to a couple of months ago. I did manage to make a positive ID of the species of nudi I have and it is a sponge-eater. It looked fat for the first couple of months and actually seemed to be growing. Not any more...

Here are some pics of him:
