Mine is a total disgusting mess unless I have just cleaned it.

why? it's not an area for distinct neatness, it's the "heart" of your system. I bought a wooden toy box to put all the extra's and essential items in. Keeps clutter out from sump area.

In this picture I have 2 250 watt heaters, a thermometer, 25 gallon refugium, 35 gallon (capacity) sump, Aqua C EV 200 protein skimmer with two pumps, return pump, calcium reactor with 12 pounds of media, 5 pound co2 bottle, waste collector (the fancy empty milk jug

), titanium grounding probe, feed line from my RO/DI unit and two overflow lines. Every day I can take 30 seconds to check water level, bubble count on reator, effluent drip rate, skimmer production, temperature and for the dreaded water leaks.

You Kknow they could have cleaned it up before they posted it. My under the stand looks like my desk. I am the only one who can find anything on it.

I wouldn't call my under cabinet messy just as I wouldn't call my desk unorganized. Though, only I can find what I wish to look for. Maybe I should make my secretary to clean up the sump area too! (she hates fishy things.......hehehe)
