What would be a good doser for CA reactor ?

I and never seem to get my effuent rate out of my CA reactor set consistantly. I feed it with a $25.00 needle valve off the discharge of my main pump, but it seems like every day I have to make major modifications to the needle valve. I'm thinking of just putting it on a doser, but I don't know anything about them.

Good ?? bad ???

What size is the water inlet on your reactor. If it is 1/4", like a Korallin, then you can use a Aqualifter micro pump.

Forget about needle valve from the feed pump. Use a valve on the output of the reactor, and see if you can get more consistant flow rate.

Make sure the bubble rate is consistant too.

Yeah, just stuff the reator with as much water as you want and use a needle valve on the output like posted above.

Thanks for responding guys but I can't pressurize my DIY reactor as it is open at the top and just gravity overflows back into the sump.

Tell me more about this Aqualifter or whatever else would be a good choice.

Trust me on this one. Leave the needle valve in place at the FEED side of the reactor and use a MaxiJet 900 or 1200 to feed the reactor. Set the effluent drip rate at a constant fast drip, where you can't count the drips. Set the bubble rate and test your effluent for about 6.7 pH and an ALK reading of about 45 and you will be set. Good luck.

IME, it is best to put the needle valve on the feed side not the effluent side. Once dialed in you will not have clogs on your valve like other reactors. HTH

Thanks. I had a Maxi 600 laying around and decided to try it. I guess I'll know in a few days if this is more accurate than tapping into the system pump.
