REEF-ER - You can get most of the parts to build one at your local electrical supply store. I went out and bought the ballast, socket, wire and put it together. I bought the PC lamp kits from A&H Supply MO. Also bought all the bulbs MO as well. It's a much cheaper way to do it. My canopy houses a 400w 10k MH, and four 55w PC's. I think I spent about $200 less the price of the bulbs. I think the canopy was about $80 total cost. If you'd like to see a picture of it email me and I'll send it to you. Good Luck!
no such thing as cheap lighting. I have also read that the ballast at places like lowe's and home depot do not have near the life span that the pfo ballast and the hamilton. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. now about the wire and sockets their probably isn't any difference. If I were you I would go with one of the ballast from a mail order fish store. Just my .02 cents.
