As some of you have read my previous post, the desjardini tang seams to be doing better in the hosp. tank. But just checked the PH and it is at 7.7 Need to raise it, but how.

Do you have plenty of water circulation and air circulation, probably no sump with the Q tank? Is the tank covered or uncovered. I had the same problem and corrected it by leaving the top of the 29g open and having the powerhead close to the surface for agitation. I also did a 5g water change every week. This brought the pH up to 7.95ish. Just somethings to look at.

A hosp tank is a short term, hopefully, endeaver. You normally have to make frequent and large water changes to control ammonia. Since the WCs are frequent and large, your alk and ph should be pretty stable. As long as the new water is at the correct levels. That being the case, I would expect that you are experiencing co2 buildup. You should be able to offset that with increased aeration. Drop in an airstone or two.

Thanks guys for all the help. I have a ten gallon Q tank, the PH is blowing at the top but the lid is on and open. I will put my whisper air pump in this evening for some more airiation. Off to work.
