Air exposure to corals?

Was wondering how air exposure effects corals? When I do water changes I have always taken my corals out until I finished. Would it be O.K. for them to be partially exposed to the air? That way I don't have to mess with the aqua scape too much. The only species that would be exposed are Acro's and some Montipora.

They should be Ok...many of my coral feel the air when I do my weekly water change also with no bad effects. I don't let them dryout I always keep them wet until I refill the tank. Just DON"T expose sponges to air.
