Euro-Reef CS6-1 Skimmer

I'm interested in this skimmer but I'm concerned as to the depth of water it can sit in and function properly. The water in my sump comes up to a level of 8" while the main pump is running and rises to 10.5" when shut off. Does anyone know if this would be o.k. for this skimmer to sit in my sump ?

FWIW, I've *heard* (I have no practical experience with them) that the skimmer is not sensitive to head pressure variations due to fluctuations of water level in the sump. This is what I've heard...
