For sponge, Cut it, and super glue it. Simple. Just make sure you do all underwater.
For Colt, you can cut and glue it too, but may work better if you use a toothpick to help anchor the cutting. Make a clean cut, and take a toothpick, insert into the cutting 1/4" from the cut. Attach the cutting with the toothpick inplace onto a broken coral or mounting plug. Tie the 2 ends of the toothpick with rubberbands onto the plug, place in a fishless tank with medium flow to help it rejuvenate. When you've determined the cutting has attached onto the plug, remove the toothpick.
