I think you are missing something in the translation. There are many of the people who have slowed down on posting that may see a topic and scan it briefly. Once you see it has been answered, there is not a lot of reason to post. I think it is interesting that at www.corvetteforum.com they have their infopop set to show how may times a post has been read. You can see a post that has two replies has been looked at 100 times.

Also one thing you will see as a board gets larger is many threads have a few answers because there are more threads to view. Also you will see the cliques form. Groups of people start answering predominately the same peoples questions. The only true way to know anything is to see how many hits this site recieves a day. I am sure many people who used to post much more than they currently do still visit but do not post.

I've seen this topic come up before. Basically, I think that the longer you are here, there is less information directly applicable to you on a regular basis. If you are just starting out you have a million basic questions, and you learn something from almost every post. As time goes on, your personal informational needs become more specific. That's not to say that there is not someone out there going through the same thing, they're just harder to find. Personally, I go through cycles. When not much is going on with the tank, I don't find as much to intersest me. When a big project is coming up, suddenly I do.

Clarification:

Biogeek is Rob Toonen

EricHugo is Borneman.

Shimek and Borneman have their own forums on reefcentral.

and I agree with Randy, one can only answer the same question so many times. I often will go weeks even months without posting here, even reading the posts because I get burned out and I'm sure others are the same.
