In your opinion what is the best magnetic scraper.

Have you experienced a bad magnetic scraper? Did any brand rust?

Has anyone tried a "Mighty Magnet"?

The Magnavore VI is the best I have used. I have one of those 25.00 Tunze's that does a good job for 25.00 but it doesn't come close to the Magnavore.......how thick is your glass?

Yesterday I bought a white square magnet at local LFS. It is supposed to float and it does, it is supposed to clean great and go around corners and it does.
When I opened it the first time it had a warning between the 2 magnets that said "Powerful magnet, watch fingers" so I thought I carefully put the two pieces back together to see how powerful and I now have a blood blister to prove that this was true also.

I have the same magnet listed above. The mag float. It is a great magnet, and is relatively inexpensive.I use the XL model on my 220 reef. This magnet is completely sealed in plastic, which makes it float. This has to help prevent rusting which occurs over time with other magnets. Anthony

What do you guys thinking about leaving the magnet in the water at all times? Is it any harm to anything?

Where do you get the magnavore magnets? Also, has anyone tried those magnets that premium aquatics sells?

Best price you'll find on the Magnavores is at Custom Aquatic. If you find a cheaper price, let me know--I don't think you will as I searched for them exhaustively when I bought mine.

Algae Free makes a good powerful cleaning magnet thats safe on glass or acrylic. They also have a new floating magnet that you can get at Premium Aquatics. www.premiumaquatics.com
I have the mag-float350 and the Hammerhead float The Hammerhead is bigger and much stronger.

Tunze Mag all the way.....

I have had one for over a year on my 75 and it has taken all the tough stuff off. Watch for sand in it and it is a little $ but well worth it...

I thing Champion has them but not the best place to order from...

Teabag:

I have a Mighty Magnet and it's great!!! One thing i would warn you of is if your not using this on a big tank don't bother. My Algae Free Piranha does great for smaller tanks. My votes with Algae Free; best price of a in-tank safe magnet with the power of some of the big boys. Sorry, but i have to throw in that i've seen nothing but junk manufactured by Tunze (yeah, i know what you Tunze die-hards are saying, "he's comparing that $25 model to higher end magnets." That's where your wrong, i don't care for any of them.)

Just My $0.02!

I have to say the algae Free magnet floating Hammerhead really cleans my 100 gallon tank. Much more powerfull then the mag float and a whole lot cheaper then the magnavore. I also like how the outside part is made out of oak instead of plastic. Looks a lot nicer.
