Is the LOA light flourescent or halogen?

I think I may be confused on now, is that light fixture from Lights of America that everyone seems to be using on there refugium a halogen bulb or flourescent?

I went to their web site and all I found was the flourescent bulb stuff.

it is a flourescent. it rocks too.

It's a fluorescent bulb with a screw type base, the 65watt bulb.

It would actually be a high output compact flouresent more commonly referred to as a "power compact" by most in the hobby. The 65W version everyone raves about is a 6500K color temp. and really a decent light for the $ IMO.

Besides being inefficient, halogens put out the wrong spectrum for photosynthesis, making them useless to corals & algae.
