Witnessed A. Frenatus pair spawning last night. Female has been in tank for three years, male for a year. Host is E. quadricolor (bubbletip)and this is the first time I have witnessed this event. Egg mass is on underside of large acropora colony where they can be guarded from the comfort of hte host. Anybody know how often this might occur and what the spawning cues are?

Many things can cause clowns to spawn. It is different for each pair. Some think it is the lunar cycle and others think it is a change in water conditions,or both. Some will also link it to the amount of food fed. If you want them to keep spawning you should maintain the current conditions.
