What is the proper temp?

I run my tanks between 79 and 82 degrees. One tank has been as high as 84+. Things doing well....

Used to run it at 77-78 based on Sprung and Delbeck and others...but was always thought that running closer to normal reef temperatures might make sense. After reading the Shimek article, I have raised to to 80-81. Only raised it a few days ago, so too early to tell. I think Dr. Shimek makes a pretty compelling case though.

Ok, Everyone has a different opinion on what to keep the temperature at for a reef, so please let me know what you think. Is 77 degrees F the ideal temp? or higher?

Going by memory, I beleive the Reef Aquarium Volume 1 book by Sprung and Delbeck says that 75 is ideal.

My tank runs between 76 and 80 depending on the photoperiod and time of year. Everything seems fine at either end of this range.
